Homegrown: One Drum Shoe at Cobra Lounge May 21 Chicago, IL

Who:
One Drum Shoe
Chris Hart – vocals, guitar
David Greenhow – bass, backing vocals
David Mertz – percussion, backing vocals

One Drum Shoe has really only been around for about 6 months, but they’ve built up a healthy resume of live performances and their catalog of original work continues to grow. Look for a full length debut in the near future and in the meantime get out and see a show. They plan to keep up their current schedule of a couple local dates a month, so keep an eye out for more dates to be added.

What:
Self described as being influenced by bands like Oasis, the Beatles, and The New Pornographers. You can hear it. I think they sound like The Kinks with the distortion turned up. It works. I was digging on their track “Give Up The Ghost”. Have a listen at the band’s myspace page.

Where/When:
Tomorrow night, Thursday May 21st @ Cobra Lounge 9PM. They are also playing a number of other upcoming area shows:
June 11 @ Cal’s 9PM
July 1 @ Red Line Tap 8PM
Sept 14 @ Elbo Room 10PM

Get a taste of their tunes and get out to a show.
