Jamie McLean @ National Underground 4/10-11

Stumbled into National Underground last night and lucked into a very enjoyable set performed by Jamie McLean and band. Jamie and Co. sprinkled some good times covers of Neil Young and Tom Petty into a set of material from the previously released album American Heartache. It was sheer luck that I caught this show but after doing some homework today I find that Jamie McLean is in fact the guitarist that used to play with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. You can hear some of that New Orleans sound come through in his solo work. It's good stuff. He plays again tonight at National Underground. It's a free show and if it's anything like last night it should be another raucous night. Check him out there or on one of his other upcoming stops. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
