Sad news for all us White Stripes fans, but not altogether surprising. Today it is official; The White Stripes are no more. The band released the following statement:
“The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.”Kind of a cool way to go out. My memories of the '03 Aragon show will last forever. Great show. My only regret is that it was be the only time I saw The White Stripes live.

A few tracks from their 7/24/07 MSG show that never get old.

2. When I Hear My Name
3. Jolene
4. Hotel Yorba
Are you serious ? OMG ! in the big picture of Rock and Roll, The White Stripes arent even on the radar.

Brian Davis, we thank you for your constructive feedback. Your opinion and ability to use CAPS LOCK to express said opinion has been noted.
ReplyDeleteThe White Stripes were great in the sense that they were so melodic yet simultaneously simple. I played Seven Nation Army at my 6th grade talent show and I still think the riff and lyrics are just as good and creative today. Brian Davis... I'm assuming only extended guitar solos that do not complement songs are the only things that stimulate your ears.
