'It Might Get Loud': Tracks After A Second Viewing

So I had to go see this one again with my Chicago brethren. Just as powerful a second time and I think I was able to concentrate on the music more this time through.

They is a lot to digest in the way of tunage throughout, but a few teaser tracks for those who are still thinking of seeing it or already have and want a little reminder.

At one point Jack White sits down and quickly scribbles out some lyrics and records a quick song demonstrating the ease with which he creates. It's a rough track, but this might explain how this guy seems to have a neverending stream of new songs and new projects all the time.

Here's Jack White's "Fly Farm Blues" from It Might Get Loud

(compliments of Ear, Nose, Eye Candy)
Get the 7'' from Third Man Records.

Jack White also tells about his time apprenticing under Brian Muldoon as a furniture upholsterer in his younger days. They would refurnish old sofas during the day and play after they were done. The duo put out a record in 2000, The Makers of High Grade Suites.

Here's a taste.

The Upholsterers - Apple Of My Eye

The Upholsterers - I Ain't Superstitious

The Upholsterers - Pain

(tracks compliments of I Am Fuel You are Friends)

Lots more music when you go to see THE MOVIE.

  6. (1) If I remember correctly, the three of them played together on some old Led Zep song shortly/just before playing "The Weight." Does anyone recall which song THAT was?

    (2) I've been trying without success to find a complete list of songs played in the movie, in order, somewhere on the Web. Anyone have an URL?

    Thanks in advance!

  7. (1) The song you're thinking of might be “In My Time of Dying.”

    (2) A complete playlist can be found on pages 16-21 of the movie's press kit (a PDF), at:

  8. What is the instrumental song right after "Your Momma's out of Town" that is playing in the background? It's playing while Jimmy is going to Olympic studios - jazzy, with some vibes - almost sounds like Tortoise. Anyone have any idea?
